Coastal Living / Safety App

In March 2020 when the world went into lockdown, I left my apartment in Dublin and moved back home to the Sunny South East in County Wexford. I am from a small coastal village in Southwest Wexford and spent most days during lockdown walking on the beach. Throughout this time in lockdown, I knew I wanted to improve my UI skills and work on building a portfolio so I started writing down some ideas of projects that I could work on in my spare time.

Because I grew up in a coastal village that in the past has tragically been affected by ship sinking and drownings, water safety has always been important to me. I wanted to design a simple app that residents of coastal villages and towns could use to track the tides, locations of life buoys and emergency contact numbers for services such as the RNLI and Coast Guards. I wanted this app to not only be useful to residents of seaside towns and villages but also people who even visit the seaside just for a day.
